On point 4 I hearilty agree with you. I wish Mr Market would hurry up and start a newspaper or television news show that didnt feature the latest drivel from some or other politician and A.N.Other bloody Middle East story.

I haven't watched this celebrity BB as I am rather bored with the format.

But the other BBs I have watched have tended to favour people who are fairly decent and somewhat ordinary in the end. The showboaters and bitchers tend to get kicked out. Maybe people feel like they need to punish people like this? I dunno. Or maybe people just like the decent folks in the house. I actually voted and tended to want to get rid of the most boring people - so that we'd see more vitriol. Hey, but that's just me...

That's a coincidence, I too voted fot the most boring of the first three potential evictees, Gorgeous George. Yet Jodie Marsh, the most volatile and disruptive of the lot is, I believe, favourite with the bookmakers to go first.

This is puzzling, why get rid of the controversial, exciting ones and keep the bores?

isn't this obvious. You have to LIVE with these people 24hrs a day. Volatile and disruptive people are not pleasant to be around. They may be amusing to watch on TV, where you see them in tiny doses and can switch them off, but not in real life. In real life, esp in an environment as claustophobic as BB, the choices for human interactions are basically conviviality and sullen resentment. The occasional excitement a loose cannon brings about don't make up for the much larger risks of them creating a sullen unhappy environment, of them disturbing the everyday lies that are agreed upon, them waking the sleeping dogs that are let lie and so on. If I were in that situation, I want housemates who understand that we're all past that argument about who had the roughest childhood two weeks ago; I don't want someone who every day wakes up and thinks "what can I say to get everyone fighting with each other".

yeh but I'm talking about the people's vote on SMS and the phone lines etc

its true that some viewers may be watching 24 hrs a day though....
