But it's only regional and on its way out if the Wahabbis and the like get their way...The Qawwalis will be the first up against the wall when the revolution comes.

But then Jesus has inspired quite a bit of music, too. The hymn book at my church has almost 2000 hymns in it. :-P

For my money, I like John Hiatt's "Tennessee Plates" for Elvis-inspired music.
